Medicare Exchange 2022

For the 2022 Medicare Exchange conference, I developed fresh branding, signage, and a website that blended elegance with modern, playful elements, ensuring the event stood out while reflecting the charm of the Carolina Inn.

The Need

The Medicare Exchange conference, held at the Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill, NC in 2022, needed a rebranded identity that incorporated the venue’s timeless elegance while keeping the event’s tone fresh, modern, and engaging. The goal was to create a visual identity that would excite attendees about the event, even though Medicare is typically considered a dry topic. Additionally, the conference included a “Night at the Royale” themed casino night, requiring special event signage to enhance the atmosphere.

The Approach

With full creative freedom, I set out to design a brand identity that honored the sophistication of the Carolina Inn but also injected fun and vibrancy. I selected a palette of blues and a script typeface to align with the venue’s elegance. However, I felt the design needed a modern twist, so I introduced a pop of red, adding energy and uniqueness to the branding. This small but impactful detail ensured the conference felt lively and current. Themed signage for the casino night also reflected the luxurious and playful atmosphere of the event.

The Skills

Logo Design & Branding

The branding for Medicare Exchange 2022 needed to strike a balance between classic and contemporary. I created a logo and identity system that embodied both, using blues and an elegant script typeface to evoke the charm of the Carolina Inn while adding a bold touch of red to keep it modern and fun. The inclusion of red was a decision I made after realizing the original designs lacked a dynamic element, and it ended up enhancing the overall feel of the event.

Signage Design

For the conference, I designed various banners and flags to align with the event’s branding. The signage carried over the same balance of elegance and modernity, creating a cohesive and visually striking experience for attendees. In addition to the main event signage, I created special signage for the “Night at the Royale” casino night, capturing the theme’s opulence and excitement, enhancing the immersive experience for attendees

Website Development

The website I developed for the conference was designed with functionality as a top priority. I ensured attendees could easily access the event agenda and venue map, providing them with the essential information to navigate the conference smoothly. The user-friendly layout helped visitors find what they needed quickly, enhancing the overall experience and excitement leading up to the event.
